1. In what ways does your product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The kind of media institution that would distribute my media product is the similar distrubutors of magazines such as 'Kerrang' and 'Rock Sound'. My magazine would stereotypically fall under a 'Rock' music category. If it were to be distributed, it would most likely be published by a company similar to The Bauer Media Group (Bauer Verlagsgruppe). This is a large German publishing company based in Hamburg, which operates in 15 countries worldwide. Since the company was founded in 1875, it has been privately-owned and under management by the Bauer family. It was formerly called Heinrich Bauer Verlag KG, abbreviated to HBV and usually shortened to H. Bauer. This is the company that publishes magazines such as 'Kerrang' and 'Q'.
